Eye catcher along the Rupel: luxury apartments and commercial space

Cordeel builds Kaaigebouw in blooming Boom

We built the magnificent Kaaigebouw on the Rupel quay in Boom. The project consisted of 28 high-end apartments with patios and four retail spaces on the ground floor. This eye-catching complex offers an appealing combination of living and working on the waterfront.

High-quality connection

As the elongated Kaaigebouw is flanked by the quay on one side and the market on the other, the building has sunny patios overlooking the water and spacious outdoor areas overlooking the city. Three stacked layers, each comprising different materials and each with a unique look, enhance the characteristic identity of the complex’s different functions. By integrating the footpath at the base of the building into the design, a high-quality connection was created between the city centre and the Rupel river. High windows in the outer façade, clad in the same elegant stone as the MAS in Antwerp, make for surprisingly bright apartments.
