Open Wervendag 2026 Cordeel Belgium

Visit our construction sites during Open Construction Day

On Sunday, May 31, we open the gates of several construction sites, giving you the opportunity to take an exclusive look at our projects.

Oosterweel construction site in Antwerp

Commissioned by Lantis, TM ROCO, of which Cordeel Belgium is a part, is carrying out the largest section of the Oosterweel project. As part of this large-scale Flemish mobility and liveability project, we contribute to safer and smoother traffic by completing the Antwerp Ring Road. The Merksem viaduct will be demolished to make way for a sunken Ring Road that reconnects city districts and transforms the area into a modern green zone. In doing so, we are helping to build a healthier and more pleasant city.

This year, the Oosterweel construction site reaches an important milestone: the start of the construction phase of one of the final missing sections, the Canal Tunnels. During your visit, you will get an exclusive front-row view of the excavation site where the Canal Tunnels are being built. You will be able to observe the different stages of the works, including the excavation works, the 30-metre-long horizontal pipes or struts that keep the construction pit open, and the first concrete works for the tunnel floor.

UZ Gent in Ghent

Together with CIT Blaton and Wyckaert, we are delivering an impressive mobility project for UZ Gent: an underground parking facility of 80,556 m², spread over 3 levels and accommodating 1,794 cars. Descend into our construction pit, discover how the project is taking shape, and be surprised by numerous side activities!

De Weeg in Bree

On the former hospital site at Rode Kruislaan in Bree, we are developing De Weeg, a sustainable project that combines living and sports, including a swimming pool, sports complex, and a residential tower with 36 social housing units. Visit us and discover a sustainable project with a fossil-free concept and innovative timber construction, including a fully CLT-built residential tower.

Faculty Building UHasselt in Hasselt

Commissioned by UHasselt, we are constructing a sustainable faculty building of 14,000 m² on Koning Boudewijnlaan in Hasselt. The building will have seven floors, auditoriums, teaching and study spaces, and offices for the Faculty of Business Economics. Visit this site and discover impressive steel structures and an open, transparent building design with an iconic curved roof.
