TM WISICO starts construction of PanTera’s state-of-the-art Actinium Production Center in Mol
This state-of-the-art facility will become a cornerstone in the global supply of Actinium-225 (Ac-225), a promising radioisotope used in targeted alpha therapy for the treatment of cancer. This innovative form of therapy enables highly targeted treatment of cancer cells while minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissue.
A project with global impact
The APC is being built based on a design by MODULO architects, with the expertise of engineering and consultancy firm Tractebel. The production center will enable PanTera to deploy its proprietary Actinium-225 production process on an industrial scale.
The facility is scheduled to become operational in 2028, with the first commercial supply of Ac-225 expected in 2029. As such, the project will make an important contribution to meeting the growing global demand for this vital isotope used in the development of innovative cancer therapies.
Strong collaboration as the foundation
The preparatory earthworks and retaining works have now been completed, and the first sections of the foundation slab have already been poured.
Thanks to the close collaboration within the TM WISICO (Willemen - Cordeel Belgium - Imtech - SPIE) consortium and the commitment of all project partners, we are proud to begin the above-ground construction works, consisting of precast concrete walls and cast-in-place concrete walls. This marks an important milestone and the perfect opportunity to bring together the site team, the client, the architect, the engineering consultants and the other project partners.
As construction partner, we are especially proud to contribute to a project that is not only technically groundbreaking but will also have a significant societal impact.
A festive start to a remarkable project
To celebrate this important milestone, we brought together the entire site team, the client, the architect, the engineering consultants and the other project partners on Tuesday, 30 June. This gathering marked the official start of the construction works and celebrated the strong collaboration that forms the foundation of this project.
The festive kick-off also provided an excellent opportunity to look ahead to the next phases of the project while gradually heading into the annual construction holiday. We wish all our employees and partners a safe, relaxing and well-deserved construction holiday!
