Eye-catching sustainable administrative centre

Design, build and maintenance project

Cordeel built this striking administrative centre as part of a design and build contract. We are also responsible for the long-term maintenance. The building houses municipal services, the Public Centre for Social Welfare’s support services, a social centre, the police department and the library.

Sustainable building

Geothermal energy is used for heating and cooling the building by means of concrete core activation with seasonal thermal energy storage. This guarantees a pleasant temperature during both summer and winter months. Other characteristics of the building are the high level of insulation, excellent airtightness and triple-glazed windows with solar-control glazing. The green roof acts as a buffer when it rains and also ensures that temperatures on the roof do not rise too much. Energy-efficient lighting, with presence and absence detection and daylight dimming, reduces the internal heat load.
