On the former hospital site at Rode Kruislaan in Bree, construction of the De Weeg project is moving forward steadily. This innovative campus brings together residential and sports facilities within one integrated development. The project includes a modern swimming pool, a multi-purpose sports hall, and a residential tower with 36 social housing units.

A sustainable and multifunctional site

The development aims to create a future-oriented place where living, sports, and community come together. By combining different functions within a compact building volume, the project ensures efficient use of space, energy, and materials. Special attention is also given to user comfort and minimizing disruption during construction.

Construction progress

Work on site is progressing steadily, with several key milestones achieved in recent weeks. Glulam beams and timber roof panels have been installed above the swimming pools, marking an important step in the structural works. In addition, the pool has been filled for the first time as part of waterproofing tests, a crucial phase in the construction process. The sports halls have also taken shape and were assembled using beams and steel decking.

These achievements represent a significant milestone in the overall progress of the project. With this progress, the completion of this multifunctional site is coming ever closer.
